VINCENT VAN DUYSEN
Ribbon is a fabulously soft textile bed with a young, modern design, using natural materials. Ribbon, by Vincent Van Duysen, marks the Flemish designer’s debut with Molteni&C. The textile or leather upholstery hooks up to a ribbon, with leather details, that runs all the way round the headboard and bed and serves both a structural and an aesthetic purpose. As in a rosette, the soft and inviting silhouette underlines the familiarity of the object. The tall and softly padded headboard makes it a highly contemporary product, suitable for the most discerning customers. The upholstery slipcover is fully detachable.
The design allows both an erect and a more relaxed position by resting on one of the wings of the armrest. The formal balance results from the constant thickness of the body and by the profile of the seat, which is sinuous at the top and ends in the light steel frame. Its removable covers have metal zips on the back, which becomes a decorative motif.
A successful design strategy that achieves a balance of functional and aesthetic features, and entrusts the details to the right role: the Ray seating system is designed for a long life. Modular, available in two depths, with an extensive compositional range that includes linear and corner elements, a chaise lounge and ottoman. It stands out due to the tailoring detail of the blanket stitch that runs along the profiles of the cover, both in tonal and in contrasting hues.
Designed for those who love comfort and modernity, intended to be an evergreen, the Michel seating system mirrors the design philosophy of its designer who shows a preference for simple shapes – pure and elegant in their linear form without any additional decoration to underscore the concept of function. The many elements can create both formal and social configurations in an extensive range of sizes.
The J.J. family presents armchairs with a different look and a wide variety of materials: with a steel-rod structure supporting a wooden frame, they convey a certain degree of lightness. Entirely made of thermo-treated ash wood, they hint at traditional aesthetics. The armchair fitted with a sleigh, the expression of the traditional rocking chair, becomes even more glamorous when it is attired in long-haired Mongolian lamb fur.
