Paola Lenti

Paola Lenti is an Italian design company founded in 1994 in Meda, in the Brianza district north of Milan, by designer and entrepreneur Paola Lenti, who was joined in 2000 by her sister Anna as managing director. The company remains family-run and has built its international reputation on two things above all: color and textile research. Working from proprietary, weather-resistant yarns developed in-house — including its signature Rope yarn and the responsible yarns of its Twiggy family — Paola Lenti produces seating, rugs, fabrics, and outdoor structures that dissolve the boundary between indoor and outdoor living, all manufactured in Italy with an emphasis on hand craftsmanship and environmental responsibility. Its chromatic research spans hundreds of exclusive shades, developed and tested in Meda so that colors remain vivid and stable outdoors, season after season.

Much of the collection has been shaped by designer Francesco Rota, a collaborator since 1997 who has created roughly seventy collections for the company, including celebrated pieces such as the Float seats and the Walt modular indoor sofa. Other notable works include the Bloom outdoor tables by Marella Ferrera, the hand-made ceramic Calatini side tables by Marco Merendi and Nicolò Morales, and the Mandala outdoor partition system, which received a NYCxDesign Award in 2019. The roster of collaborating designers has grown to include Vincent Van Duysen, Claesson Koivisto Rune, Lina Obregón, Victor Carrasco, and Francesco Bettoni, and the company’s fabrics and finished pieces appear in residences, resorts, and hospitality projects worldwide.
