About Vibia
Vibia was founded in Barcelona in 1987 and has grown into one of Spain's most internationally present lighting companies, with subsidiaries in the United States and Singapore, commercial branches in London, Frankfurt, and Dubai, and distribution in more than a hundred countries. The designers
Arik Levy's Wireflow (2013) reduced the chandelier to a drawing in space, black wire and points of light, a piece that quickly became shorthand for contemporary Spanish lighting and took a Wallpaper* Design Award in 2014. Lievore Altherr Molina, the studio behind much of the brand's identity, designed Skan (2014) among other collections. Stefan Diez's Plusminus (2021) runs current through a conductive textile belt, letting lights be placed anywhere along it. It won the Stylepark Selected Award, and Diez's earlier Guise collection received a Red Dot Award in 2018. Martín Azúa's Halo and Antoni Arola's Flamingo extend the catalog's sculptural end; outdoors, Meridiano by Jordi Vilardell and Meritxell Vidal (2013) and June by Emiliana Design Studio (2016) brought the same thinking to gardens and terraces. Dots won Interior Design's Best of Year in 2023.
