RON GILAD
Ron Gilad’s new collection of furnishings, Grado°, underlines the designer’s interest in basic geometric shapes. 45°/tavolino. Series of small tables with extra-light transparent crystal top, available in various sizes and marked by both a monochrome finish, american walnut or black oak, and by a bi-colour finish. Complex but essential shapes, “open box” table, of which we can only see the contours, able to integrate into all furnishing solutions with character.
The components are characterized by a simple design of reduced thickness that offers specific details and a wide array of materials and finishes. The table tops range from the reflections of glass to compact marbles onto the different grains and colours of wood: available in quick ship program the rectangular version 250 cm, with glossy frisé eucalypt top and black chrome die-cast aluminium base.
The Awa is an elegantly asymmetrical table given outdoor functionality by a new type of Cristalplantr® material.
Naoto Fukasawa continues his research on upside-down truncated cone shaped seats, and, for this project addresses B&B Italia’s need to explore the seating with armrests. Two forms are ergonomically designed and developed to obtain a relaxing easy armchair with a high back and headrest, and a conversation armchair with a low back. Through this program it is available the low back version.
The design allows both an erect and a more relaxed position by resting on one of the wings of the armrest. The formal balance results from the constant thickness of the body and by the profile of the seat, which is sinuous at the top and ends in the light steel frame. Its removable covers have metal zips on the back, which becomes a decorative motif.
