Sahrai

Sahrai traces its history to 1830, when the Sahrai family began sourcing and creating rugs in the Tehran bazaar in Persia. Across nearly two centuries, the family business moved through Istanbul, St. Petersburg, and Tehran before settling in Cannes and, in 2017, establishing its current base in Milan. Today the company is family-run under Rana Sahrai and Ramine Sahrai, who in the 1990s began developing contemporary designs and expanding the business internationally, building on traditional hand-knotting techniques passed down through the generations. As Ramine Sahrai has described it, the goal is to unite Oriental carpet-weaving knowledge with Occidental interior design sensibility. Sahrai Milano holds ISO 9001:2015 certification for the design, production, and trade of rugs and carpets for high-end residential and hospitality projects.

The brand has developed rug collections in partnership with fashion and design names including Armani/Casa, Elie Saab Maison, Roberto Cavalli Home Interiors, Marcel Wanders, and Pininfarina, alongside in-house collections such as Noor, Taj Mahal, Place Vendôme, and Heritage Antique.
