Wall and Deco

Wall&decò was founded in 2005 in Cervia, Italy, by Christian Benini, who remains the brand’s Creative Director. Benini, working at the time in advertising photography, recognized the decorative potential of large-format photographic imagery and turned the idea into wallpaper; by 2007, the company had grown from a design studio into a full wallpaper manufacturer. In 2018, Wall&decò joined the Swedish Wallvision group, now known as Embellence Group, which has been listed on Nasdaq First North Premier Growth Market since 2021.

The brand’s signature technology is the WET SYSTEM, a patent-pending wallpaper engineered for bathrooms and other damp spaces, combining a waterproof liquid-membrane layer with decorative wallpaper at roughly 1.5 millimeters total thickness. It has been installed in more than 23,000 showers across over 80 countries. A companion product, OUT SYSTEM, extends the same durability to exterior facades with a 10-year guarantee against cracking or tearing. Collections are designed with named collaborators including Studiopepe (Hoshi and Fukuro, the latter winning an Archiproducts Design Award), Zanellato/Bortotto (Salina and Limo), and Tommaso Spinzi (Concreté). The brand has also won a German Design Award in 2019 for the Wet System, and an Archiproducts Design Award in 2018 for its KAZE wallpaper.
